Nagoya Castle

Nagoya Castle was built in 1612, it is one of the three greatest castles in Japan. Have a look at kinshachi (golden imaginary tiger-headed fish) on the top of the castle. It is well known as the icon of Nagoya.

Ise Jingu

Ise Jingu is located in Ise city, Mie prefecture, which is about 1.5 hours away from Nagoya by train. Ise Jingu is the most significant site for the Shinto religion. Composed of many Shinto shrines with two main shrines (Naiku and Geku), it is a large, calm, sacred place: here you can relax and listen to the sound of stream, take in the fresh air of the forest. If you are after something touristy, stop by Okage Yokocho: this is a good place to grab a bite and shop for souvenirs.
